Arnolds Park was founded on the shore of West Okoboji Lake by W.B. Arnold in the 1860s. Shortly after the railroad arrived in 1883, the area became known for its recreational opportunities. Arnold created the first amusement ride in town during the 1890s when he built a waterslide that allowed visitors to plunge down and out into the lake on a toboggan. This soon led to the establishment of Arnolds Park Amusement Park. Learn More...
